DATEM constructs Manila Water’s raw water intake structure at a portion of Laguna Lake in Pakil, Laguna.

In this project, DATEM secured the engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and testing contract for Manila Water’s East Bay water intake structure to be built within the Water Treatment Plant in Barangay Kabulusan.

The project is composed of the design and build of the raw water intake structure, its controls, automation, and instruments, and an intake pipeline.

To be connected to the East Bay Water Treatment Plant Phase 2, DATEM designed the East Bay water intake to help augment the water supply source from Angat Dam and assure continued water supply services.

The intake structure will facilitate water supply to a population of 2 million in the towns of Rizal, Taguig, Pateros, and Pasig.

“Anchored on our sustainability efforts, DATEM is delivering this project to assist in providing water supply to the underserved communities, especially in the province of Rizal. DATEM consistently coordinates with Manila Water and complies with the laws and regulations implemented by the Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA) to ensure the safety of our manpower during construction and of the consumers when the intake is operating,” Infrastructure Division Head Raymond Tinio assured.

As part of its infrastructure project expansion, DATEM targets finishing the East Bay raw water intake structure by 2024.
